BBVA Compass Names North California Market President

Sunbelt-based BBVA Compass, part of New York-listed BBVA, has appointed Tom Tuter as market president for Northern California. Tuter assumes his new role after serving ten years in commercial banking at Bank of America. At BBVA, he will focus on Sacramento, Walnut Creek and the Upper Central Valley region, where he will direct all commercial banking and specialty group activities for the bank. He will also be working closely with the real estate group and the retail and wealth management lines of business. BBVA Compass operates along three business lines: corporate banking, retail banking and wealth management. It has 712 branches in the US including 374 in Texas, 93 in Alabama, 78 in Arizona, 65 in California, 45 in Florida, 36 in Colorado and 21 in New Mexico.
